AOTA is the state organization who provides the “C” in a persons COTA credential. 

The CEO sends out a memo that VIP’s (very important persons) such as MD’s, business executives, and celebrities are to receive premium care.  They will get: the most advanced practitioners, extra time, will be seen as soon as they arrive whether early or late, and will get to schedule appoints at their convenience even if it means bumping other clients off the schedule.  The OT practitioners report they cannot comply with this new policy because of:   

The COTA is informed by his manager that he has to see a client for 60 minutes of therapy.  The client is in a vegetative state and not able to understand what is happening or to participate in the treatment.  The COTA does not believe that service would be skilled or necessary.  What would be compromised should the COTA continue to follow through with treatment?
