If an area imaged appears very dark on ultrasound, with few returning waves, what is the term used to describe this?

New Department of Natural Sciences policy.  One of the images below is likely to result in a 0 for your exam, the other is perfectly acceptable.   If these are representative of what I can see when you are taking your exam, which is likely to result in a 0? Which is the Bad one?  

When I take my test, I should not have on a hat, no earbuds/headphones, no other audio in the background, no cellphone… no electronics of any kind.

I understand that if I am whispering questions and answers… if I am talking to someone else, if anyone else is in the room, etc… I will get a 0 on the exam.
