Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is a global health challenge, contributing to significant mortality and rising healthcare costs. Healthcare-associated infections (HAIs), often due to multidrug-resistant organisms are a major concern. The World Health Organization’s Global Action Plan on AMR, the National Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) Strategic Framework (2020), and the South African AMR National Strategy Framework, recognise IPC and antimicrobial stewardship (AMS) as essential strategies to combat HAIs and AMR.Discuss five challenges and/or barriers to implementing the following strategies in low-resource settings, and propose practical solutions for each:2.1     Infection prevention and control (IPC) (10)2.2     Antimicrobial Stewardship (AMS) (10)
