This will invоlve plаnning a four-year course of study for a college trumpet studio for undergraduates, and a two year course of study for graduate students. For the purposes of this question, it will not be necessary to differentiate between a performance and an education major. Assume that all students will have the same performance goals. Some items you will want to include are: Syllabus Make sure you state clearly the course objectives. This will include information about private lessons, studio/master class sessions, performance expectations (juries, recitals, etc.), attendance policy, grading outline, etc. The purpose of the syllabus is to ensure that each student has a definite understanding of course expectations. Repertoire List This can be used more as a reference guide to which you can refer back later. Each teacher needs to have a vast knowledge of repertoire so he/she can more easily provide appropriate playing material for a wide variety of students. You should include solos, etude books, technical/warm up studies, orchestral excerpts, transposition studies, recordings, literature (books, journal articles, etc.).
