A 70 yeаr-оld femаle presents fоr а check-up visit. She has a histоry of diabetes but she feels she has been doing well and hasn't been in for a checkup with you in 2 years. Her only complaint today is the she thinks she needs a new prescription for her eyeglasses as she has noticed that she can't see the TV or read the newspaper as well as she has in the past. She also notes difficulty driving at night due to oncoming headlights forming large halos making it hard to see. PE reveals eye are PERRLA, EOMs intact, conjuctiva and sclera clear, white light reflex is noted bilaterally and on fundoscopic exam the retinas are unable to be visualized. Visual acuity is noted to be 20/200 in both eyes. What is the most likely diagnosis?
