Part II: Short Essay (3 at 20 points each–>60 points)Discuss 3 of the following 5 questions in short essays of approximately 3-4 paragraphs each. (This is not a formal essay—no intro, conclusion or thesis. Just answer the question.) Try to refer specifically to the Bible in your answer. Why was the controversy around having kings? What characterized the ideal prophet/king relationship, and how did that relationship deteriorate? Identify the high and low-points of the prophet/king relationship. What (according to the narrator) constitutes a good king or a bad king? Give specific examples of each. Why doesn’t the Wilderness generation get to enter the Promised Land? Who are the exceptions?
