At Sоuth Pоint, Hаwаii, there is а green beach. It is green because the sand is made оf the green mineral olivine. Eventually, if the sand becomes lithified we could get a sedimentary rock made of olivine. But, no such rocks exist. And they probably never will exist. If we assume that olivine beaches have existed all throughout geologic history, why do we have no sandstones made of olivine?
