The newly born infant is term gestation, the amniotic fluid is clear and no anomalies are noted. However variable decelerations were present in second stage and a nuchal cord x 2 was observed and reduced at birth. The infant heart rate is 80 and she is not breathing at birth. Positive pressure ventilation (PPV) is initiated within seconds, but response is slow as the heart rate climbs above 100. What other equipment is required as this infant slowly responds to PPV.
