Design a selection and oversight system for US federal judges that would (a) preserve their independence while (b) avoiding the possibility of abusive judicial review and (c) making it more likely that they would decide cases in such a way as to avoid losing legitimacy with the public. For each element of the design you created, cite to a reading or class discussion that makes you think it will achieve your goals, for each of the goals (i.e., a, b and c, above) explain whether and why your design does a better job than the design we currently use to select federal judges in the US. Be sure to define the various terms you use with reference to our readings on these topics.
