Let us revisit the midterm exаm reаctоr, specificаlly, NASA is planning tо deplоy a fission surface power (FSP) source on the moon. The FSP is to have an output of 40 kWe from a 245 kWt reactor. The FSP reactor is composed of 165 kg of 19.75% (wt%) enriched uranium nitride (UN) with a density of 13.5 g/cm3, and 50.0 kg of yttrium dihydride (YH2) moderator. During the midterm exam, we found that the average thermal microscopic fission cross-section of the U-235 at a temperature of 800°C is 245.6 b, the atomic number density of the UN is 3.233×1022 molecules/cm3, the mass of U-235 in the reactor UN fuel is 30.7 kg, the amount of U-235 consumed for 10 years of continuous full-power reactor operation is 1.098 kg, and the fission rate of the reactor at full power is 7.656×1015 fissions/s. Use this information to solve the remaining problems to 4 significant figures each.
