The above is an image of BAP . The specimen is a throat swab obtained from 9 year old Lilly. She woke up with sore throat difficulty swallowing and a low grade fever. Being that, it was picture day at school she decided to go to school despite feeling sick. While on the bus, she feels nauseous and her head began to hurt. She gets picked up from school and taken to to the nearest Urgent care.Her Rapid strep test was questionable and hence a throat culture was ordered. You are working on lilly’s culture.
