A soccer player that is smaller in stature is kicked in the posterior lower leg by a very large and athletic player causing severe pain. After carting the patient to the sideline you perform your sideline assessment: severe pain in leg, no pain on anterior tibia palpation, redness over skin, muscle tightness, swelling of LE, and numbness into toes.
