Purpose – What do you want this paper to accomplish? Genre – What kind of assignment is it (research essay, lab report, analysis, etc.)? Subject – What topic or angle are you addressing? Context – What broader circumstances or expectations (disciplinary, cultural, classroom) shape this paper? (1–2 sentences for each is fine.)
