The PTA is to instruct the patient on bed to chair to bed transfers.  The patient was admitted with a diagnosis of Diabetes Mellitus (DM) Type 2 for an amputation of their R lower extremity at the transtibial level.  Past medical history (PMH) includes a previous L lower extremity amputation at the transfemoral level from 3 years ago.  The patient does not have a prosthesis for the L lower extremity.  To perform the bed to chair transfer which direction should the patient go?
