Fish fаrming is the lаtest аgricultural revоlutiоn and the fastest grоwing form of food production in the world. Most of the salmon, cod, shrimp we eat is farmed. These industrialized farm fisheries are "largely unsustainable" for the environment and for our own health. They are "major polluters' of the oceans and lake waters as they dicrage great amounts of waste and food into the waters. Also due to the high density at which they are raised, they often have high levels of diseases and parasites which can be transmitted to other wild fishes. To prevent disease farms treat the farmed fish with hight doses of antibiotics and pesticides which also leach freely into the waters. p. 122 -124
