Students must dress appropriately for wet laboratory work, it is required to wear laboratory aprons, goggles, and gloves. 9. Always cut away from your body and never near a fellow student. If you are not sure how to use a scalpel ask for instructions-they are very sharp and can cause injury very easily. 10. Used scalpel blades are to be placed in the “Sharps” container. NEVER PUT BLADES IN TRASH CANS. 11. If you are injured or if any type of accident or fire occurs, IMMEDIATELY call your instructor for assistance 12. Never taste chemicals. Smell chemicals cautiously by wafting the vapors toward you. 13. Dispose of chemicals as per required and as directed by your instructor. 14. Any broken glass needs to be disposed into a GLASS DISPOSAL container. 15. In the event of a fire alarm should sound during class, exit the classroom following the directions of the instructor. 16. If the school should lose electrical power, follow the directions of the instructor. Cancellation of the remainder of class due to power outage or fire alarm is at the option of the instructor.
