Discussion 10: Your family has a great tradition of getting together including your parents, siblings and their families for the Fourth of July. After the last family gathering, your 6 year-old daughter seems to be acting differently. A month later your daughter explains that your sister’s 14 year-old son (your nephew) got her alone in a room and touched her inappropriately. Though you don’t show it to your daughter you’re furious and immediately call your sister. She downplays it and accuses your daughter of exaggerating. You explain to her that you’re reporting this to the police. This causes her to freak out and tell you you’re a horrible sibling. Your mom calls you later that night, explaining you’re breaking the family apart, not to call the police and that the Christian thing to do would be to forgive.
