EMS is called to respond to a 25-year-old male identified as Daniel, injured in a diving accident. He dove into a sand bar at a remote river. Upon arrival he is unresponsive. He briefly opens his eyes to painful stimuli. He has abnormal extension of his upper extremities bilaterally, his breathing is irregular, and there is bleeding from his nose. Pupils were ERRL, but sluggish. Calculate Daniel’s GCS.
