20. Place in order the steps to administer 12 units of regular insulin and 44 units of NPH insulin. Draw up 12 units of air for the regular insulin and inject the air. Withdraw 12 units of insulin. Wipe the vial tops of the regular insulin and the NPH insulin using an alcohol wipe Pick up and rotate the NPH until the insulin is mixed. Insert the needle into the vial and withdraw 44 units of NPH insulin Add the doses together (56 units) and select an appropriate syringe (U-100 unit syringe). Draw up 44 units of air and inject into the NPH insulin. Remove the needle.
