On physical examination, the temperature is 102.5 degrees Fahrenheit, heart rate of 90bpm, and respiratory rate of 40 bpm. He has watery diarrhea with undigested feed. When an esophageal tube is passed to relieve the bloat, copious amounts of watery, yellow fluid refluxes with a sour smell.
