The profile described below is that of a potential victim of human trafficking. This individual was arrested and taken to your local police station for booking. You are the intake officer working this shift. The arresting officer provides you with a brief report. Other details included here are what you observe while working with the suspect. PROFILE: The suspect reports she is a 17-year-old female from out of town, though she looks to be younger. She has no identification on her person for you to verify this information. She was arrested for shoplifting at the local Walgreen’s store located at 920 W Gloria Switch Road, Lafayette, LA. She had in her possession two bottles of water, a box of Tampax tampons, a pregnancy test, men’s Axe body spray, and a box of crayons. The officers responded to the call at 3:00am. The suspect was alone at the time of the incident. As you observe the suspect in the booking room, you notice she appears to be very angry. She refuses to answer any questions you have and is defensive and combative at times. You notice her nails are professionally manicured, yet she appears to be disheveled. (Her hair has not been brushed, her clothes are ill-fitting, she has a strong body odor). She denies having anyone she can call. She refuses to give you, her address. She denies any history of substance abuse; however, she appears to be fidgeting and cannot seem to keep still. As time goes on, she begins to nod off in the booking room. You notice bruises on her upper arms, upper thighs, and neck. She also has a small tattoo across her chest. She refuses to give information about how she got the bruises or how long she has been having the tattoo. This section is worth 10 points.
