A 35-year-old woman comes into the emergency room with complaints of fatigue. She states that over the last few days, she has been feeling tired and has had some occasional gum bleeding in her mouth. She also states that she has started seeing “red dots” on her legs as illustrated (see image). She denies any cough, congestion, fever, diarrhea, headaches, or changes in urine production. On her exam, she has petechiae on her lower extremities. Her vitals are within normal limits. Her CBC is significant for WBC 7,500, Hgb 12.4, Hct 37, Platelets 29,000.
