Each possible roll is a microstate of the Yahtzee system, and there are possible microstates. A roll gets scored according to one of thirteen different categories: The upper section The lower section We will take the score of a roll to be the highest score among all the categories. You will begin by downloading an Excel XLSX file containing a template for this exam question at the link below: Link to XLSX template The template contains all 7776 microstates for the five dice roll in cells A-10:F7785 (do not worry, for I used formulas to generate them instead of writing them by hand). To compute the scores for each microstate and category in the upper section, you will fill the cells H10:S7787 with appropriate formulas as detailed below. Once you complete your work, the formulas in Columns T:Z will compute the scores for the lower section, and the entries of column G will compute the best score (among the categories) for each possible roll, as well as the minimum, maximum, and average score among the microstates. Your work will proceed and be graded as follows: 1. (30 points) In the cells H10:M7785, you will count the number of times that each of the possible die faces (1-6, one per column) appears in the roll for the microstate in that cell's row; each cell will have a number between 0 and 5. You should use a single formula that is reused in all cells (by copying-and-pasting or filling up/down and left/right), or you will receive a 5-point penalty. [Hint: use the labels in columns H:M as well!] 3. (20 points) Add four columns to the left of the existing content of the spreadsheet to enter your work for this section into the worksheet. Remember to put the descriptive header back in place after you do that. (15 points) Using the computed probabilities, create a histogram of the probabilities of the different macrostates.
