A physical therapist wants to know if stress management techniques produce an improvement in pain management for patients with chronic neck pain. A quasi-experimental study design that compares a control group vs intervention group was completed. The intervention consisted of a one-month stress management program. The outcome variables of pain intensity and Neck Disability Index (NDI) (both measured as continuous variables) were collected at the end of treatment, 3-months and 6 months follow up. After analyzing for normality, both the variables of pain and disability were found to be normally distributed.
