According to the MOHO, human occupation comes from our internally driven need to act. We have a desire for action and that desire is seen outwardly through the occupations we perform, or what is called our occupational participation. Our system houses our motivation toward our occupations. Occupations are organized into patterns and routines via our system. And our system includes the mental and physical abilities we possess to complete skilled occupational performance. The environment influences each of these three components, in turn, the environment is continually influencing occupational participation.
