Sunitа wаs driving аrоund five miles per hоur under the speed limit in a large SUV alоng a two-lane highway when Gavin came speeding up behind her in his sports car.  Gavin was tailgating Sunita and getting very impatient that she was not driving faster.  He then attempted to pass her by going into the opposite-traffic lane on a strip of highway that was designated as a no passing zone.  But Sunita—who was enraged with Gavin at this point—saw him trying to pass and quickly swerved into the opposite-lane traffic right when Gavin did.  Gavin began tailgating again and honking his horn.  He did not want to get back into the right lane because now there was a car right next to his that was driving very slowly.  In addition, Sunita had intentionally dropped her speed even lower in order to drive at the exact same speed as the slow driver, staying only a few feet in front of the slow driver so as to box Gavin in and prevent him from passing the slow driver.  Sunita then saw an oncoming truck and swerved back into the right lane to avoid it, while also barely avoiding the slow driver.  Because Sunita’s SUV was so tall and had tinted windows, Gavin was unable to see the truck that was coming towards them until the last second.  The truck hit Gavin head on and Gavin died in the collision.  If Sunita is tried for manslaughter, she should be found:

Devоnte оffered tо sell his old drum set to Lаylа for $1,500, аnd Layla agreed, stating that it was "a very fair price for a vintage drum set in such great condition." Layla was moving out of state and promised to send Devonte a check once she was settled in at her new location.  Two weeks later, Devonte received a check from Layla for $500.  Realizing that Layla must have inadvertently put the wrong amount on the check, he added a one in front of the amount so that the check then read "$1,500."  He also wrote "one thousand" in front of the "five hundred dollars" on the part of the check where the payor spells out the full amount, so that it now read "One thousand five hundred dollars."  Devonte then went to cash the check, but the teller at the bank flagged the check because it looked altered.  A supervisor confirmed that it was and called the police.  Devonte was arrested and charged with forgery, which in the jurisdiction is defined as "making a material alteration in any writing with the purpose to defraud."  At trial, Devonte testified that he and Layla agreed to $1,500 and that he honestly believed that she made a mistake in drafting the check and meant to make it out for $1,500. On cross-examination, Devonte conceded that his solution was not reasonable, and that a reasonable course of action would have been to rip the check up and ask Layla to draft him a new one with the correct amount.  If the jury believes the defendant, it should find him:
