Click here fоr а 10-secоnd videо thаt shows а person's thumb being pulled into abduction, and then released. Notice how it  “snaps” back into its starting position. It is important to note that the person did not actively adduct their thumb back into place (i.e., didn't use any muscle activity to pull it back into place).  This passive movement of the thumb illustrates the elasticity of the thumb's adductor muscle's tendon. This tendon was easily stretched when the thumb was pulled back because it is very compliant, and then when it was released, it easily 'snapped' back into place due to its elasticity.
