In 2027, the House and the Senate pass the National Injunction Jurisdiction Act overriding the President’s veto of the legislation. The text of the act provides as follows: The Supreme Court of the United States shall have original jurisdiction over all actions filled by a national non-profit organization contesting the propriety of an executive order by the President and seeking a nationwide injunction to prevent the enforcement of that order. National non-profit organizations are also hereby granted standing to sue on behalf of the welfare of the people of the United States when any Executive Order of the President of the United States evidences poor judgment and is contrary to the consensus of national experts in the bureaucracy of the United States. In the first month after the passage of the act, the President signs an executive order that no government agency is to transfer funds to a private organization without keeping a public record of the transaction and providing a copy of that record to the White House. The ACLU files a lawsuit directly with the Supreme Court of the United States seeking a nation-wide injunction against the enforcement of this order. Discuss.
