The mоther оf а 3-dаy-оld infаnt calls the phone triage nurse. She is stressed and states, "My baby is barely eating anything and spits up a lot." The nurse asks about eating habits and other symptoms and the mom responds, "I feed her a 4oz bottle of formula every 3 hours, but she barely even drinks a fourth of it! I keep trying to get her to take more, and sometimes she does, but then she always spits up after if she drank more than 1 oz. She poops multiple times a day and pees within 1-2 hours after most feeds. She seems comfortable and happy and the pediatrician said she's gaining the right amount of weight, but I don't know why she never finishes her bottle! What should I do?"
