In what ways does our look at newer/“younger” religions force us to return to the fundamental question/problem we tackled at the start of the course—how do we define “religion”?Aside from being a fundamental question in the academic study of religion in courses like this, in my Lecture, I discuss how being able to define “religion” with respect to the First Amendment has important implications for many United States governmental entities, including the IRS and the VA. Why/how?*** Remember, submitting any part of this Learning Evaluation created using AI tools like ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Copilot, etc., or AI-enhanced writing/translation platforms like Grammarly, QuillBot, DeepL, Google Translate, Wordtune, or Microsoft Editor violates my Academic Integrity policy (see Syllabus). Like other forms of plagiarism, it is academic misrepresentation/fraud because you are submitting work created by someone/something else as your own.
