Inquiries about how to do a room scan should take place prior to testing.Each testing session will be recorded by Honorlock via your webcam and computerYou must have a stable internet connection and a computer that meets required specifications.Testing Environment SetupStudent should dress professionally. Clothes may be casual but should be appropriate for a classroom environment and video proctoring.Student must sit at a desk, countertop, or table during the test.Student may not sit on a bed or floor.Student may not use blankets or coverings in the testing area.Testing computer or laptop must be placed on a stable, stationary surface (not in the lap).Work area must be clear of all digital devices except the computer used for testing.No cell phones, tablets, laptops, smart watches or smart glasses, earbuds, or other electronic devices, permitted in the testing area.No outside resources such as other people, cell phones, search engines, books, e-Books, class notes, or papers of any kind permitted in the testing area.No hats or sunglasses permitted.No other persons allowed in the testing area.Testing area must be in a quiet, secure, and well-lit location.Testing area must be free from distractions.Student must complete a 360 room scan using the testing computer, laptop camera, or webcam. The video must show the entire testing area, including the mirror reflecting the testing area, a cleared workspace area, the computer screen perimeter, and the student’s lap area (as seated for the testing period). No sticky notes allowed.A large mirror must be placed behind and to the left or right of the student to show the webcam, a reflection of the student’s lap area, the testing computer screen, keyboard, and surrounding workspace. The mirror’s reflection must be visible by the webcam to be valid.As an alternative, a hand-held mirror may be used to reflect the student’s lap area, the testing computer screen, keyboard, and surrounding workspace as part of the room scan and at least once during the test.  Before launching the test, ensure that your face and shoulders are centered fully and clearly within view of the webcam and remain centered for the duration of the test.Failure to follow the above requirements will result in a deduction from the exam grade. Blatant or repeated disregard of these rules will result in an Academic Misconduct Referral and a more severe penalty.Testing BehaviorStudents need a stable, internet connection so video of the entire testing session can be completed. This is the student’s responsibility to ensure capture of the testing session throughout the test.Test must be completed in one sitting. If an internet interruption occurs, return to your test immediately, repeating the room scan before resuming the test. Remember, the student’s entire face and both shoulders must be centered within the webcam view and visible at all times.Students must share screen throughout entire test with no interruptions.Be aware that YOU can be SEEN and HEARD by your instructor in the recorded test video.No bathroom breaks are allowed.No other people are allowed in the room during the test.Use of outside resources, other people, supplementary materials or technology is forbidden.Writing down test information or taking screen shots of test questions is not permittedDo not read test questions aloud.Do not look off to the side, down to the keyboard, or at the desk surface for longer than 1/2 second. Keep your eyes on the test questions. If you are a “thinker,” look up or close your eyes while thinking.VIOLATING ANY OF THESE RULES WILL RESULT IN AN ACADEMIC MISCONDUCT REFERRAL, A TEST GRADE OF ZERO, AND THE STUDENT MAY BE REQUIRED TO TEST AT AN APPROVED "IN-PERSON" PROCTORED TESTING CENTER FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE SEMESTER.
