SHORT ESSAYS:Answer ONE оf fоllоwing prompts in 300 words or less: It is estimаted thаt there аre 11.4 million unauthorized immigrants living in the US today. The majority of these people are from Latin America and are of all ages.  There has been federal legislation introduced to deal with elements of this population.  One such piece of legislation is the Dream Act.  What is the DREAM Act and why is it important to the current Chican@ and Latin@ community?  Do you agree or disagree with this legislation? Why or why not?  Refer to the readings and class discussions we had with regards to the Dream act when answering this question. As discussed by Veronica Terriquez, what is Intersectional mobilization? Could you offer a definition of what intersectionality means in this context and then build upon this definition to more substantively grapple with how Terriquez interrogates intersectional theory in activist work? What is the boomerang effect they discuss, and how does it affect activist work that takes seriously intersectional identity?  What does Juan Gonzalez argue in the chapter, Free Trade: The Final Conquest of Latin America? Provide a working definition of neoliberalism and describe NAFTA, which is one of the cases he uses to make his argument. (Free Trade Model in Latin America: 1. Panama and Puerto Rico (1947), 2.
