As Dr. Grаnde explаins, Kаczynski’s diagnоsis оf Schizоphrenia may have developed from an earlier personality disorder in the Cluster-A group. Yet different assessments arrived at different conclusions about which of the Cluster-A personality disorders he might have had - one suggested he had Paranoid PD (along with some features of Antisocial PD and Avoidant PD) while another preferred Schizoid PD. Which of those assessments do you think is more accurate? Review diagnostic features from the DSM, along with specifics from Kaczynski’s life/story, to explain/justify why you think it more likely/fitting to say he suffered from Paranoid PD versus Schizoid PD. I know you can’t know what was really going on with him, and I know that in reality he might have suffered from both personality disorders, but I’m looking for how well you can connect symptoms and evidence to diagnostic criteria to reach a well-reasoned conclusion.
