Steve is a 32-year-old male who presents with complaints of a 24-hour history of fever as high as 102F accompanied by chills, low back pain, and dysuria. PMH: No chronic health conditions. No routine medications. NKDA. His partner recently ended their long term relationship of 8 years and he went out with friends two weeks ago as they were determined he should “just forget about her”. He is fuzzy on the details, but he woke up in bed with a woman he met that night. Exam within normal limits except for a very tender, boggy prostate. What is your best plan of care?
