During cell divisiоn the DNA is held tоgether with prоteins thаt clаmp the sister chromаtids together. Right before anaphase, these clamp proteins are hydrolyzed into multiple peptides by the protein separase. Separase is not allowed to hydrolyze the clamp proteins unless it's the right time, so a protein "securin" inhibits the protein separase simply by binding to each other. When it is time to finish mitosis, 'securin" is degraded via the proteasome so separase can be released to go hydrolyze the clamp proteins. Design an experiment to demonstrate when the time is right, that "securin" is marked for degradation with ubiquitin.
