The PMHNP is working with a 7 year old client who has temper outbursts with physical aggression 4-5 times a week. The family and school reports that this is grossly out of proportion to the situation and this has been happening for the past year. Developmentally the child has normal growth, normal grades, and normal IQ (intelligence) testing scores. The mom reports that she feels like he is acting immature for his age and is irritable and mad most days. She reports that generally he will follow directions at home and at school but he always seems angry, even after having an outburst. Based on the information above, what would the PMHNP note as her provisional diagnosis?
