This condition begins with a localized area of ulcer development and has signs and symptoms which include loose, semi-formed stool; melena if the ulcer break through blood vessels; pain or tenderness in the RLQ; anorexia, weight loss, anemia and fatigue. Diagnosis is made from barium enema, abdominal CT or Colonoscopy with Bx. Treatment is to reduce inflammation, nutritional support and surgical intervention to removed diseased bowel.
