We are working as consultants in an unethical cookie factory…
We are working as consultants in an unethical cookie factory. They do not meet the safety requirements of OSHA. Employees do not change gloves or equipment in the allergy section leading to cross contamination with peanuts and eggs. Several bosses will fire people on the spot for minor infractions. One person was fired for taking the boss’ favorite coffee mug. There is horrible morale, high absenteeism, huge production delays, and many employees are constantly fighting with one another. In order to fix the culture and stay in business, we have been hired to help. Please discuss whether we should have unlimited vacation time or what kind of vacation benefits we should utilize here? Please define and provide an example. Why do you think this will work best here?

Scenаriо: Yоur depаrtment shаres a cоmmon rubric for “evidence-based argument.” After the first moderation meeting, you notice: (a) large rater spread on the Evidence criterion, (b) students over-quote without warrants, and (c) multilingual learners score consistently lower on Claim despite strong oral reasoning. Prompt: Propose a three-part plan to improve assessment quality this semester addressing (a) reliability, (b) validity/construct representation, and (c) equity/access—without diluting rigor. For each part: name the problem precisely; specify an action (e.g., anchor set & decision rules; mini-lesson on warrants & sentence frames; rubric language change); explain the mechanism by which your action solves the problem; state how you will evaluate whether it worked (short-cycle data you’ll collect in one month).
