In оrder fоr а cell tо mаintаin its ability to be a stem cell it must maintain the presence of a group of proteins that act as transcription factor proteins that help keep the cell being a stem cell. If a cell loses those specific transcription factors the cell is no longer a stem cell and instead starts taking on other cell characteristics, so it can differentiate and start becoming a more specific cell type (like a neuron vs. a heart cell). Design an experiment and show that the cells that become heart cells covalently attach ubiquitin to the stem cell gene Myc in order to cause degradation of stem cell transcription factors.
