Ecо mаnufаctures lаptоp cоmputers. Eco sold one of its computers to a distributor called Dco. In turn, Dco sold the computer to Wco, a wholesaler, who then sold the computer to a retailer, Rco. Pat purchased the computer the computer from Rco and took it home. Pat used the computer in his bedroom and left the computer turned on and laying on a blanket on top of his bed when he went to the kitchen to make lunch. Upon returning to the bedroom after having his lunch, Pat found both the computer and the blanket on his bed on fire. Pat unplugged the computer and then grabbed another blanket lying nearby and managed to beat out the fire. However, in the process, Pat’s hands and arms were burned. In addition, Pat’s bed sustained heavy damage and had to be replaced. Later investigation revealed that Eco had inadvertently used an incorrect electrical component in making the computer. This caused the computer to overheat and start the fire. Discuss.
