Write your Argumentation Final Essay in the text box. In five paragraphs, write an essay of at least 600 words in which you argue why college students today should pursue a career/major in a field you are pursuing or in a field that interests you. Be sure to begin with an appropriate title that makes clear what the argument of the essay will be. Your essay must include the following components: 1. An introduction paragraph of at least five complete sentences (One sentence must be a clear, arguable thesis.) 2. Three body paragraphs of at least five sentences – each of which must include a correctly incorporated direct quotation from one of your sources with an accompanying parenthetical citation 3. A conclusion paragraph of at least five sentences Notes Avoid “you” and “I” unless they appear within a quotation. Avoid contractions. Avoid starting the conclusion with “In conclusion.” Content (60%) counts more than mechanics (40%). Focus on quality and responsible documentation. If you have time left over when you finish writing, re-read your essay. Check to be sure that sentences make sense. Look for typing/spelling and punctuation errors.
