You are attempting to pinpoint the location of a recessive mutation in corn that causes drought tolerance. You have crossed the drought tolerant corn (homozygous recessive for the mutation) in strain A to a second strain of corn (strain B) that have the normal, dominant allele for drought sensitivity. You have run three different molecular markers on the two parents, the F1 as well as 12 different F2 plants that each have the drought tolerant phenotype.
