You have been following a 68-year-old woman with a history of moderate obesity, osteoarthritis, and hypertension. While you are taking her history, she has a spasm of coughing and then suddenly excuses herself to use the rest room. When she returns, you ask if she has had any problems with her bladder such as a urinary tract infection. She denies it, but you note her apparent discomfort at the question, and wait a few moments before asking her if she is certain there are no problems.
