Your job is to run a series of experiments that attempt discover the identity of the disorder affecting Ziggy. Using Caenorhabditis elegans (C. elegans) as a model organism, you designed the following experiment. Based on the blue coloration in the skin, you hypothesized that the change in color was due to poor circulation, which perhaps lead to decreases in oxygen reaching the extremities. You decided to conduct a test using a model organism, the roundworm Caenorhabditis elegans. You obtained both wildtype (control group) and alr-1 mutants (experimental group) of C. elegans. You then designed an experiment that would test oxygen consumption between the wildtype and mutant roundworms. First you had to prepare plates containing LB agar in which to place your worms. You then used these plates to set up enclosed chambers to measure oxygen consumption. You prepared a total of 14 plates, each containing 100 adult C. elegans; 7 plates were used for the wildtype worms and 7 plates were used for the mutant worms. After attaching the oxygen sensors, you recorded the oxygen consumption in each chamber every 2 minutes for a 10-minute period at room temperature (72 F). You recorded the results and will analyze them later. Which of the following are standardized variables? (Check all that apply)
