Your lab has been working with an enzyme that converts isocitrate (substrate) into alpha-ketoglutarate (product). This is an enzyme important in the Krebbs cycle, and can be competitively inhibited by NADH. You’re testing a new drug, Drug X, that you predict might be a noncompetitive inhibitor for this enzyme.
