It was found that he had normal hearing at mid and low frequencies, but had sensorineural hearing loss in the high frequency regions. It seems to be consistent with presbycusis. He just got new BTE hearing aids with slim tubes. He says the hearing aids are helpful, but that things don't sound "normal". He tends to confuse certain speech sounds, even though they are loud enough to hear. He has come to the clinic for auditory-only therapy to boost his speech discrimination abilities.
