Pаr, Inc., is а mаjоr manufacturer оf gоlf equipment. Management believes that Par’s market share could be increased with the introduction of a cut-resistant, longer-lasting golf ball. Therefore, the research group at Par has been investigating a new golf ball coating designed to resist cuts and provide a more durable ball. The tests with the coating have been promising. One of the researchers voiced concern about the effect of the new coating on driving distances. Par would like the new cut-resistant ball to offer driving distances comparable to those of the current-model golf ball. To compare the driving distances for the two balls, 40 balls of both the new and current models were subjected to distance tests. The testing was performed with a mechanical hitting machine so that any difference between the mean distances for the two models could be attributed to a difference in the two models. The results of the tests, with distances measured to the nearest yard, follow. We are unwilling to assume that the population variances are equal. We conducted a statistical analysis and the results for the two samples are in Exhibit 5 with distances measured in meters Exhibit 5   Current New Mean 270.275 267.5 Variance 76.62 97.95 Observations 40 40 Hypothesized Mean Difference 0   degrees of freedom 76     Test the following hypothesis

Write а simple R script tо execute the fоllоwing: Question 1 (30 pts):  а. (2 pts) Loаd the data in “heart.txt” into R. The data are from a study of the effect of a new drug on a particular heart function. Drugs A and B are two forms of the drug, C is a placebo (i.e. a control, expected to have no effect on heart function). Thirty subjects were randomly assigned to a drug. The intent was to have 10 subjects per drug. PRE is the heart function measured before the drug was administered. POST is the heart function 2 hours after the drug was administered. Note PRE and POST are quantitative variables (heart function measures) and DRUG is a qualitative variable (with three possible outcomes).  b. (6 pts) Build a multiple regression model with POST as the dependent variable and PRE and DRUG as independent variables. Report and interpret the estimated coefficient parameters for the PRE heart function and dummy variables for the DRUG variable. c. (5 pts) Is there a statistically significant difference between Drug A and Drug B POST heart function given the same PRE heart function value? Draw a conclusion at
