It seems that ever since Sam’s mom died a year and a half ago his behavior has been unmanageable, Sam’s grandmother reports. Sam has anger outbursts at least twice each week, but typically four or five times each week. In these anger outbursts he gets angry “over the least things” and may yell, curse, and swear at the individual who has angered him, or at times he even bangs desks, punches walls, or throws books. Even on days that Sam does not have a rage at home or school he is irritable and his peers and even adults try to keep him from lashing out by pacifying him, but it inevitably does not work.
