NASA is planning a mission to examine the outer planets of the solar system. Plants will be grown to produce oxygen and to recycle carbon dioxide. Since the spacecraft will be too far from the sun for photosynthesis, an artificial light source will be needed. If there is a system failure and the lights go dark, what will happen to CO2 levels?
