You review the patient information and determine that the patient is a 10 year old male with cystic fibrosis (CF). You plate the sample on blood (BAP), chocolate (CHOC) and MacConkey (MAC) agar. The mucoid-appearing organism on BAP has a greenish, metallic sheen, flattened colony morphology and spreads out over the agar surface.
